What Is FlexFactor?

FlexFactor is a merchant solution now available through CARDZ3N that uses AI to step in the instant a legitimate card is declined and recover the sale in real time. There is no retry for the customer, no re-entered card, and no lost sale for you — the decline is caught and resolved automatically.

As a dedicated CARDZ3N integration, FlexFactor is built directly into Valor PayTech, working inside Valor POS and Valor Virtual Terminal. Only eligible declines are rerouted to FlexFactor for recovery — every other transaction processes exactly as it does today.

NSF

NSF stands for insufficient funds — a decline reason FlexFactor is built to recover on both one-time purchases and recurring subscription billing, not just typos or expired cards.

How FlexFactor Works at the Terminal

Your Customer Pays by Card

Your customer pays by credit or debit card at checkout, in-store on a Valor terminal or online through the Valor Virtual Terminal, exactly as they do today.

The Processor Returns a Decline

If the card is declined, the processor sends that decline back through the transaction flow like it normally would.

Recoverable Declines Reroute to FlexFactor

Eligible declines, including insufficient funds, are automatically rerouted to FlexFactor's AI in real time. Non-recoverable declines are left alone.

Approved — the Sale Completes and Prints

FlexFactor resolves the decline and returns an approval. The sale completes and the receipt prints, with no extra step visible to your customer.

Built Into Valor PayTech

FlexFactor is built directly into Valor PayTech, working inside both Valor POS and Valor Virtual Terminal. It sits alongside your existing processing rather than replacing it — only eligible declines are rerouted for recovery, so every other transaction runs through your normal flow untouched.
